08:30 Creating the digital commons: ‘Provocation. Inspiration. Collaboration’

This interactive workshop will examine the barriers to empowering academics to take hold of the digital learning and teaching agenda and create practical change. It will draw on the experiences of the University of Sheffield in creating the Digital Commons, a virtual and physical space aimed at identifying and tackling issues brought about by the rapid changes in technology and their potential in higher education.

Part of the workshop will take the form of a ‘hackday’ where participants will be asked to come up with solutions to concrete problems they face in using technology as an enabler in the student experience, ensuring that the process is driven by learning and good curriculum design.
